It has been a strong period of growth for KMX, marked by major manufacturing developments. In this quarterly update, I’ll provide insights into three key catalysts for KMX, including:
- Completion of two KMX systems manufactured in the U.S.
- Sumitomo Electric MOU for U.S. mass production plant
- New Funding from Welara
Completion of Two KMX Systems Manufactured in the U.S.
We recently completed Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of two domestically manufactured KMX Vacuum Membrane Distillation (VMD) systems for a U.S.-based customer.
Supply chain resilience is essential for the future of U.S. critical mineral and water infrastructure. We’re proud to contribute to that resilience by delivering domestically manufactured VMD systems that help industries maximize resource recovery while minimizing geopolitical and logistical risks.
We continue to enhance KMX’s supply chain diversification efforts to ensure U.S. project developers have access to high-performance, cost effective, American-made systems.
Sumitomo Electric – MOU for U.S. Mass Production Plant
KMX and Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to conduct a feasibility study (FS) aimed at developing and constructing the first U.S.-based mass production plant for next-generation Vacuum Membrane Distillation (VMD) technology.
The launch of the first VMD mass-production plant in the United States will equip project developers with the most advanced solutions for water and mineral recovery, while reinforcing supply chains across industries of strategic importance.
The plant will help KMX meet the growing demand for its proprietary VMD technology, which enables maximum water and mineral recovery. An engineering feasibility study is underway, and site selection for the production plant has begun.
We are excited to share more details on the plant as site selection and the feasibility study unfolds.
Welara Investment Closed
We recently announced the close of an investment from Welara, a multi-family office focused on transformative technologies across public and private opportunities.
The funding accelerates KMX’s expansion into new end-markets, supports AI integration across its platform, and enables key team growth.
We are thrilled to welcome Colette K. Young, Founder & CEO of Welara, to the KMX Board as an Observer.
Up Next:
Following our recent U.S. manufacturing advancements, we hope to share news on Canadian growth plans soon. Further, we hope to provide updates on our AI integration strategy and additional supply chain enhancements as well!
